Currently, it’s only possible to set the object position on a componentized image at the component level for all images used, but the focus of an image is determined by the image itself. Therefore, it should be available when setting the image for a component instance.

This is definitely not a bug, but a feature request that already exists:

Image propery only connects to the Image element. (but image element is not the only place we can show images)
I build lots of image sections with background so I can put text or other elements top of the backgrounds. I think using css backgrounds very common I dont need to write much examples about this.

I’ve tried the Components feature in Bricks, and while it’s a great start, I found it quite limited in its current state. Here are some ideas and suggestions that could make Components far more powerful. I’ve also included a screenshot for reference:

Image Property to Background Image
Currently, you can’t connect the image property to a background image. This functionality should be possible to allow more flexibility in design.

Until there are new properties such as “value”, you can use classes to set the object position.

Value properties sound like what is needed. Classes aren’t really a good option as the object position needed depends on the specific image’s focus.
