NO BUG: Bricks builder not loading in 1.7 beta (with OxyProps, BricksProps)

Bricks Version: 1.7 beta
Browser: Chrome / Edge /Firefox
OS: Windows
URL: (local site)

While testing out the 1.7beta on a local install I had come across this issue two times so far.

I was working in the bricks builder and could edit as usual, but later when I wanted to go back to the editor it simply doesn’t load it (no matter if it is a template or a page) and stays on an empty page (nothing displayed). The first time console didn’t output errors, the second time it happened, it has throws this kind of error: “Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input” or “Uncaught SyntaxError: Unexpected end of input (at main.min.js?ver=1676493635:1:767635)”

Changing the browser doesn’t solve it (Chrome, Edge, and Firefox same results)

The way I am able to fix it (but it seems only temporary) is to change the theme, delete Bricks and Brick Child themes, reinstall them and then they work, but temporarily

These are the Plugins:

But deactivating them does not change the behavior

Hello Laurynas,

Im guessing the js error is part of your issue. Don’t think bricks has a main.min.js file. So find out what plugin is loading main.min.js and disable it.<\s>

It does, for the builder.

I stand correct. Thanks for the clarification.

Hi Laurynas,
Thanks so much for your report!

I have not yet encountered this problem, and we have no further reports on it so far

Would you be so kind as to send temporary login credentials and a link to this thread to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email address you used during the purchase?

Best regards,
timmse

Hi Timmse,

The problem is that I am only testing out locally, so no chance for a login :frowning: I just installed the usual plugins I work with and went for a play

Disabling all the plugins doesn’t solve the issue

Haven’t tried it on another computer, so can’t tell if i’d be able to reproduce it

Have not got a server for a playground with the same plugins yet

Let me know if there is a way of providing you with more data about this

Kindly,
Laurynas

See if you can install the Jam Chrome extension: Jam - Chrome Web Store

Then record your session. It should give the screen capture and the session information log so that you can then email that to support.

It should at least give them some idea of what is going on.

I too have come across this: posted a little while ago;

@timmse can confirm this bug also on my side. The builder doesn’t load up in v.17-beta. Also have the WPCodeBox, Oxyprops and Happy Files extensions. But deactivating doesn’t solve the problem.

Someone has to send us access data so that we can take a look at it. In the meantime, I have updated various installations on a test basis and have no problems whatsoever, so I am dependent on your help.

Since I am on a local install I cannot help, but hopefully, someone else is on a server

If not, I will do my best to try and put it on a server

I can provide, but it’s a live website where we can’t have changes/downtime/etc. Would that be alright @timmse ?

You are using 1.7 beta on a livesite? Courageous! :imp:

@timmse was just trying to check if the lag is gone and if the bug with dynamic data in form redirection is solved and downgrade to the stable version afterward, so yeah.

But I can set up a staging of that if that helps and give you access to that? Would that be ok @timmse ?

P.S. Also deleted all my plugins and did a reset via WP Reset. So no plugins and the bug still persists. Sent you the admin access via DM. Thanks!

I re-uploaded the theme and saved the permalinks and can now access the builder normally

It seems that saving the permalinks does the trick. Thanks @timmse !

I have reuploaded the theme also, but it fixed the issue only temporarily for me. Re saving permalinks didn’t do anything at my side

I have reuploaded the theme and it fixes the issue everytime but the it strikes again.

Ok, then we definitely need access data again. webmate was too fast in removing his test page :rocket:
You can just set up a test installation at the weekend, then we’ll take a look at it on Monday. Deal?

Ok! Hopefully I will be able to reproduce the issue on the server to investigate it
