DUPLICATE: Bricks is extremely slow

bricks is extremely slow. I have created for me a style guide with templates. without animation but only html classes. Actually nothing special, but to work is really bad. i tried this with chrome, firefox, edge and vivaldi. everywhere the same. is this a general problem? oxygen was already extremely slow, but bricks in 1.6.2 is horrible.

they are working on it. but no timeframe.

that’s nice to hear. but the problem already existed under 1.6.1. in 1.6.2 it’s even worse. it’s no fun that way.

if i have to restart the browser every 15 minutes to be able to work at least a little fluidly, productive work is not possible.

yes i know. even on pages with only one section. its very bad and i still hope they will fix soon.

I’ve not had this issue - even on very large pages.

So there must be something ‘you guys’ use that I do not?

I use Automatic CSS with Frames and WPCodebox

Ah yes, that one is well known.
Don’t use them yet, but I know the team stated they are working on it. Prob in collab with Kevin.

It’s not caused by the frameworks. We (users + Kevin and Team) tested around and it’s caused by DOM Elements.

The more complex the dom structure, the faster lags occur.
And especially the frames components are complex due to their well thought out accessibility and accordingly there will be lags earlier than if you build simple components yourself.

I have installed Automatic CSS + Frames. Do not use frames in the layout. Built my own DOM structure, which is actually not very nested. But I have looked at some frames and there are now a lot of classes loaded

would be nice to stop this myth, finally. its happening for some even with one section and no single plugin.

It’s not the framework, it’s the complexity of the page.

With a sufficiently large number of elements to keep track of, (even without a framework or custom classes) the builder sidebar editing slows to a crawl, but even then, on canvas editing is unaffected.

Frameworks, custom classes just bring the problem sooner.

Does your hosting meet the bricks requirements? I’ve never seen it on a single section.

yes it does. and yes its crazy. no matter which hosting i try.

Are you on Windows or Mac? Have you tried on a local install?

windows. tried several things, yes. no solution for now, still searching. cpu and all should have enough power (16core 5950amd)
every single entry for a char takes time and lags.

if you create a new user account on your machine and try from there, is it still the same?

If you type directly on the canvas, does it still lag?

tried on several desktops / surface
 partial happening on canvas.

What about hosting backend? I see a lot of people using lightspeed these days. Is the web server the same on all installs, or have you tried different software/configurations.

I don’t have experience with lightspeed, but I do use nginx with php-fpm and haven’t experienced the slow downs being reported.

Just a thought.

yes. slowly thinking it’s related to hosting in terms of compatibility. iis lagging like hell. linux minimal better. the quesiton for me is, who has to fix this? we by changing servers to a bricks loving one. or bricks in terms of compatibility. we will see
