If you set a background image to {featured_image} in the Single template, you will not see that image in the builder when editing the page. This appears limited to background images, as Image elements with {featured_image} do render correctly in the builder.
This problem has existed for a long time and is one of the very frustrating ways that Bricks fails to render in the builder the same as the frontend.
