WAIT: Page not loading (blank canvas) and not on cloudflare

Browser: Firefox and edge
OS: Windows

I’ve just installed Bricks today and initially it was working fine but after I closed a page and tried reopening it, I noticed the page was white, as below, but still showed all the components in the structure explorer.

I’ve tried turning off all my plugins, except the WooCommerce plugin and am still getting the same issue. Strangely, when I switched to the edge browser it initially worked but then I got the same issue again.

Someone seemed to have the same issue here a year ago, but not sure if it was resolved.

I tried turning on debug and this is what I get:
[18-Oct-2024 19:49:03 UTC] PHP Warning: foreach() argument must be of type array|object, bool given in /wordpress/plugins/wpcomsh/5.10.1-alpha+rolling.1729243569.gca6d5e7/vendor/automattic/custom-fonts/custom-fonts.php on line 399

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi,

is this happening only on one page, or there is a white screen on all pages? If on all pages, can you try to disable (set at draft) all templates, and then check the few pages again?

Additionally, try to disable any custom scripts that you have (if any), as it might cause some problems.

Please let me know,
Matej

Thanks Matej,

It was happening on all pages, creating a new page also had the same result. I didn’t have any templates or custom scripts.

Weirdly, I have found a temporary solution - on Firefox if I right click the “edit in bricks” button and open in a new tab it works and on Edge clearing all the browser cookies seems to fix the issue too (although not on Firefox). Very strange.

Hi,

this is strange. I’m not sure what could be going on. It might be some unclosed CSS, broken JS, or something.

Which hosting are you using? If you are on a Siteground, can you try Method #3? Known issues – Bricks Academy

If that will not help, and because I can’t replicate the issue, can you send temporary login credentials to your test/staging (if possible) website and a link to this thread to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email address you used during the purchase, so we can take a look?

Thank you.
Matej

I’m having the same issue, although even Firefox can’t display elements on canvas. Any ideas?

Hi @mauro,

Is it happening the same on all browsers and on all pages, and you are not connected to Cloudflare, and you do not have SiteGround Worker (Known issues – Bricks Academy)?

What if you try to disable all templates (set them as “draft”) and try again?
