Hi, Whenever I open and work in BRICKS BUILDER under wp admin…my CPU and memory goes very high and the CPU fan constantly starts running…In result its very slow down the PC performance and its very hard to work during all this process. And when I close the bricks builder everything goes normal. Can anyone please advise what needs to be done in order to fix this issue. Thanks!

Hi Corby,
Thanks so much for your report!

We are currently investigating server peaks while saving. But you seem to have the problem in general, so I would ask you to test Bricks 1.7 beta, now available in your account:

1.7 beta contains some performance improvements that might have some impact on your issue as well.

Best regards,
timmse

Hey @cbodenburg ,

Did you manage to resolve this issue by any chance? I seem to have the exact problem.

I’m on the latest bricks 1.9.4. , but this has been happening even in previous releases.

I’m on MacBook Pro 2.2Gh i7 with 16Gb RAM using Safari, I don’t think this has anything to do with computer specs.

I’m not having the same issues with Elementor even when editing the most complex templates.

I initally thought it was due to using lottie files, because I get the same thing happening when I’m on the lottiefiles website, searching lottie animations, if there’s many animations on the page, my CPU goes high.

I installed Bricksable plugin to add lotties and each time I would edit a template, the fans starting to go crazy. It is quite annoying because the high CPU drains the battery.

So mostly for that reason I started to keep away from using lotties, but now I don’t have any lotties in the template, but I still seem to have the same issue with CPU and fans spinning crazy.

I’m starting to think if it possibly could have anything to do with WP or PHP setup, like memory_limit or anything like that?

@timmse what are the ideal specs to run Bricks?

I already have wp_memory_limit defined to 1024M in my wp-config file.

Could there be anything else to add to this?

There are no ideal specs, but there are minimum requirements that you can find in the Bricks Settings. If everything is “green” there, everything is fine.

I have never encountered such problems. If they occur at the front end (when searching on the lottie files website), this has completely different, non-bricks-relevant causes, as the lottie files website is neither a WordPress nor a bricks website

Hey @timmse

No, I wasn’t suggesting that the issue is related to the Lottie website. I was just saying that I get the same issue with high CPU when I’m browsing Lottie website, which probably means that there is something on their website that is resource hungry and causing high CPU usage.

Anyway, I think I managed to (accidently) figure it out. I was using SmartLook Annalytics, Heatmaps & Recordings on the site. But it stopped working today for some reason, again, and it was quite buggy anyway, so I removed the script altogether and replaced it with Hotjar Heatmaps instead.

And the high CPU issue seems to be gone. So far fans are spinning as normal and it all seems to be fine.

So I’m guessing it was the hungry and buggy SmartLook Heatmaps app that was causing all this.
