SOLVED IN 1.4: CTRL-Z in canvas text elements and builder input fields triggers Bricks Undo

Bricks Version: 1.4RC2
Browser: Chrome
OS: Windows

Hi,

When using CTRL-Z while editing text in canvas for basic text, rich text, heading elements and ALL settings panel input fields, Bricks undo is activated.

It sems to be working only in visual editor for rich text element.

It should be deactivated in all text input fields (settings and canvas), this is so unusable, for dev and especially clients.
(Actually the Undo/Redo is pretty unusable by itself, so many bugs, so it’s even more dangerous to trigger it while typing text  But this is another story…)

NOTE: It was supposed to be fixed in 1.3.5…
No offense, I know software dev and versionning and testing and all this, but you should audit your dev process, no such regression shoud ever happen
(SOLVED: Avoid Bricks built-in 'undo' shortcut (Ctrl + Z) while typing)

Hi Yan,
Thank you very much for your report!

I was able to reproduce the issue and added it to our bug tracker.

Best regards,
timmse

Hi @timmse,

Related issue: CTRL-DEL is also working, so when we try to delete a word, it actually deletes the whole element

Hi @timmse,

This bug has been marked as solved but the issue is still present in all builder setting fields, including page custom code, element custom CSS.

It seems it has only been fixed in canvas.

Code editors and text fields are pretty unusable in this state :frowning:

Hi Yan,
we have focused primarily on the Canvas in 1.4, the Settings Panel will follow shortly. We have created a separate task for this

Best regards,
timmse
