Public, Free Bricks Component Library

Hey Bricks community!!

Having spent the past 7 years as a Webflow Developer, one thing I really grew to love is ‘Made in Webflow’. If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically a public place where you can go and upload/copy sites and components which were made by other community members.

Now that I’m working heavily with WordPress + Bricks Builder, I found myself missing this awesome resource - so, myself + the rest of the team at Memberstack came up with the idea to build a public, free, and community generated library of Bricks components - we call it BricksBoard!

We just launched it a few days ago, and I really want this to be a helpful resource for the Bricks community - so, please check it out at the link below and let me know if you have any feature requests or anything like that! Thanks, and love you all :blue_heart:

everything is just screenshots and there is no live demo.
I know we can copy but without live demo it is hard to know what is working how.

looks nice thanks for creating this site.

@heiko.dietze @sinanisler thank you both so much!!

I fully agree about the live demo - it’s tough because a lot of people will build components in a local site, so there’s no way we can iframe it :frowning:

I can maybe add a field where people can upload a loom/tella video of them demoing/explaining the component - do you think that would help? I’ll add it today if so

Considering we now have Components, using Components in the name when it’s sections/templates is kinda misleading/confusing.

Fair!!

I wonder what a better description for them would be

Since the elements on BricksBoard can be anything from a whole page, down to a simple button - I thought components was probably the best way to describe them, since a component just means a smaller part of something (in this case, a website).

What do you think a better way to describe them would be? Perhaps elements? I don’t want to confuse anyone, but I want to make sure I’m using a word that makes sense to everyone

Appreciate the feedback!

I’d name them as they are. Copy button, Copy Section, Copy Page etc…

Sure, but what about to refer to the whole lot of them? I can’t call it a library of buttons, sections, pages, tables, cards, etc etc. I’ll need a name that I can refer to all of them as. Components is a good and accurate one, but you’re right that the release of Bricks components can make that confusing.

Library of Brick’s Components and Templates?

bricks component feature will be abstract representation of ANY design.

so even if it does catch some seo traction from that it will be fine since we will be able to convert literaly anything to component so its fine.

and the term is correct when we code php or react …etc we create components/features. it is the correct term from webdev point of view.

keep it as it is or add extra “Templates” to the titles thats it.

Thank you!

Agreed with you both - if/when we add templates, I’ll be adding the ‘and templates’ part

Pick a name that does not limit. What about Objects?

This looks amazing, especially for free! :star_struck: Thank you for doing this.

One thing that I’ve always struggled with (and why Breakdance is so compelling to use sometimes) is making a really nice header menu, or mega menu in particular for dropdown and such. If there’s any way to add something like that to get us started, that’d be fantastic! :innocent:

I’ve tried to test the page but i only see a blank page, both on mobile and laptop, is this normal?

Happy to contribute to the community!!

Great idea, I agree with you 100%! Will look at making some this week

Boooooo spam! :face_vomiting:

Haha, but such is the internet.

Here’s an idea… what if there was a “Report spam” button and if X number of logged in members click it, then it moves the projects into a spam collection for review/deletion? I’m happy to help moderate during my daily visits to the site to see what’s new.

Booooo!!

I got these deleted for now, but I like that idea!

Gonna try something like that to stop spam before it hits, but if that doesnt work I’ll implement some sort of moderation

From my experience in Webflow, Captchas don’t stop spam at alllllllll. But I think that’s due to an issue with Webflow forms and not the captchas themselves… I’ll try something out and see how it goes!
