NO BUG: Bricks image gallery: open in lightbox redirects to image URL

I’ve created an image gallery using the Bricks gallery component. I’ve used Brixies, and also reproduced the problem with a simple container.
I have the gallery set up to link to a lightbox modal showing the full size image when clicked. But, what happens is that the lightbox shows briefly, then redirects to the image URL. This seems to be easier to observe in Chrome, as Chrome has a slightly longer delay before the redirect happens. I’ve tried different browsers, cleared server cache before testing and nothing seems to help.

Also, I created a new page: https://terih1.sg-host.com/gallery2 with the Bricks gallery on the top, and the Happy Files gallery below. Both are set to show a lightbox. The Bricks gallery still has the same problem, but the Happy Files gallery works fine. In a perfect world, I’d have the functionality of the Happy Files gallery, but with the ability to easily add the Metro or Masonry layouts from the Bricks gallery.

Thanks so much for your report!

The issue is most likely caused by Bricksforge’s page transitions. Disable bricksforge briefly and see if it works.

Just to clarify this: it’s not a Bricksforge „bug“ at all, but a „wrong“ configuration The reason is that page transitions have been activated here. Pjax fails when opening the Lightbox images. To fix this, the links of the photos that are opened with Lightbox must be ignored in the link selector (which can be found in the page transitions settings menu). Then pjax will ignore these images and the lightbox will open as usual

thanks for the quick reply! That worked perfectly. I disabled the PJAX page transitions in Bricksforge, and that fixed the problem. It looks like there’s some configuration options that will allow both to play nicely, so I’ll dig into that later. Thanks again for your help!

Great, you’re welcome! You must exclude the lightbox link selector from the page transitions as described in the Bricksforge docs. If that won’t work, please get in touch with Bricksforge support
