DUPLICATE: Font manager: Problem displaying custom font weights

Hi team,

I have a variable font that I have added only one weight to in the font manager. So in the typography controls it only displays the existing weight. So far no problem. But after I add the new weight, two problems arise.

1- The Font weight control displays all weights, when it should only display two weights.

2- After I add a new font weight in the Font Manager, the previous weight is completely removed.

We already have various improvement tasks regarding variable fonts - but the reports are very scattered and partly contained in other threads… but please have a look at these two:

Using a variable font file only shows the font weight selected from the Font Manager, even though the front end CSS specifies a different font weight. It’s as if Bricks is treating the variable file as a regular font file. See second photo showing thin fonts even though CSS says “400” normal font. [image] [image] Also, if you are only supposed to provide a variable font file once, why is there still a way to select the weight and font style for that file (see photo)? @timmse

Thanks for the video Alan! Yes, we’re aware of the font-weight issues and working on a solution. However, you can use the font-variation settings in this case. In the best case, no font-weight dropdown should be displayed in the font manager (old and new) when uploading a variable font - instead, the font weights should be read out according to the supported ranges (e.g. 100, 200, 300, …, 900) etc. and displayed automatically within the font-weight dropdown in the builder. Possibly supplemente…
