WIP: Variation Font Won't Allow Me to Have Multiple Variations of Weight and Font Style

Using a variable font file only shows the font weight selected from the Font Manager, even though the front end CSS specifies a different font weight. It’s as if Bricks is treating the variable file as a regular font file. See second photo showing thin fonts even though CSS says “400” normal font.

Also, if you are only supposed to provide a variable font file once, why is there still a way to select the weight and font style for that file (see photo)?

Thanks for the separate report! I already created the task yesterday :v:

This still seems to be a problem. Variable fonts are not able to be used properly.

If I add multiple variations of the font at different weights into the Bricks font manager, Bricks deletes all the variations except one automatically. The font weight selector in the style panel doesn’t properly work to pick the right weight.

To get around this, I use the “Font Variation Settings” field to set the weight manually, which works. But naturally I’d prefer the Font Manager to properly hook up all the normal weight presets found in the style selector.

In the old font manager we could add variations at different weights and set them all to the same font file, but the new font manager doesn’t work that way apparently.

Hi Zack, the task is still in progress (WIP = work in progress).
Please see my reply here, which I also added to the task:
