WIP: Typing any text in the Nested Slider's "Items to show" input causes an infinite loop

We wanted to see if the “Items to Show” option of sliders can accept a CSS variable, and it failed in an interesting way - Typing text into this input appears to trigger the slider to update with the text value, causing an endless loop and freezing the tab. In the video we try to type “var(…“, but any text causes the loop.

Hey @milotheirself,

My colleague and I can’t replicate this issue on our local installation. We can enter the var(), but the browser does not freeze.

Can you let me know which browser and OS you are using? I’m testing on macOS on Firefox and Vivaldi, but it works fine in both of them.

Hi Matej,

I primarily use Firefox on Windows 11, but the same issue occurs in Chrome.

We did a clean installation of WordPress with only the Bricks theme installed to test it again. The infinite loop did not occur within the editor initially, but when viewing the page on the frontend, the tab froze, and when switching back to the editor tab it also froze again.

We could upload it on a test server if you want to take a look at it there?

I see. Hmm, I tested in different ways now but nothing produced the issue, so if you can replicate the issue on demo/test installation, that would be awesome.
If you do, can you send the temporary login credentials to help@bricksbuilder.io and a link to this forum topic, so we can connect it.
