WIP: Not being able to see Templates as user with role without manage_options permission

I am not sure if what I am about to report is bug, but as an Editor role user with custom permissions:

I can’t see Bricks Templates at all, while having permission to edit them

What’s even more confusing is that I am able to access template list and edit templates through url directly

(as in: /wp/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=bricks_template )

Thanks so much for your report!

This is the expected behavior, because manage_options capabilities are necessary to display the menu entries. However, this makes little sense, especially as the templates can be accessed via URL. I have created a task for this.

However, you should have access to the templates from the builder (template manager), right?

DUPLICATE: "Edit with Bricks" option is missing in the top admin bar for an archive template for non-admin users

@timmse what is the status for this issue? I ran into the same issue:

  • No “Edit with Bricks” in the admin bar
  • No option to edit templates from the Dashboard menu
  • The direct URL to wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=bricks_template does work

Unfortunately, the task hasn’t been solved yet, but work has recently been done on it, so hopefully it will be solved soon.
