Will we see WooCommerce block checkout support ever? WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin only supports instant payment buttons on block checkout

Today WooCommerce support confirmed that the WooCommerce PayPal Payments plugin only supports instant payment buttons (Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal instant pay) at the top of the block checkout, not classic. These instant payment methods are the norm these days. Having the user face a big checkout form while other sites have instant payment buttons on their checkout is a huge pain point and adds serious friction to the conversion process. I know the Stripe plugin can handle this but this client uses PayPal Payments and wants to use it for all their payments including Google Pay and Apple Pay. Works great on single product and cart pages but not on the checkout.

It has me looking at block themes such so I can look at getting full modern Woo support on future Woo builds.

It woudl be amazing if Bricks offered this. It seems as time goes on the classic checkout is becoming more and more of a dinosaur in the WooCommerce space. Also the block checkout looks really nice. The classic checkout by default in Bricks looks quite miserable and I always feel saddened about that when building Woo stores in Bricks, which I tend to avoid because of this. I want a premium checkout look.

You can already use the block checkout with Bricks. I’ve used it on a few sites. It’s a PITA to style but it works fine. You just can’t edit it with Bricks since it’s block based. You can’t really edit much of it at all even in Gutenberg

I highly recommend CheckoutWC if you want to improve it.

Wow CheckoutWC looks so nice. Could be what I am looking for. Thanks

With a little work, one can achieve this with Bricks and don’t require a plugin such as CheckoutWC (as their pricing model is way out of touch with reality – greedy).
