Hello,
is there any progress in development? The roadmap itself does not show an estimated timeframe for when we will be able to use global components. We are currently working on projects where this feature could be more than useful. Especially when templates are used multiple times, with flexible layout loops and in simple use within bricks, it would avoid duplicate maintenance of templates.
Up to this point, Bricks has been a real relief in the realisation of websites. (I moved from Elementor only 6 months ago, and it was the right decision)

I wonder if global components will work on block editor too imagine having them as blocks too 
we can use every template as shortcodes. why not components as blocks
