WAIT: Woocommerce issues with Bricks

I’ve hit a weird issue, and I’m hoping that someone may have encountered this before.

I have three problems that may be connected…

  1. Any time I use existing images in the media library for product images, they do not show up on the product pages. I need to upload net new images for them to show up on the front-end.

  2. On the front-end, product variation (color) swatches (both image and color, tried in separate variations) are not showing in simple products. The color variation swatches only show on variable products.

  3. I am using WP Gridbuilder for filtering on archive and search pages. On the front-end, colors/image swatches are not showing on the color variation filtering facet.

Here’s what I’ve tried:

  • Tried both Bricks template and WP 2024 template

  • Disable all non-essential plugins

  • Cleared Woocommerce cache

  • Deleted/recreated products

  • Deleted/recreated image and images variations

  • Deleted/recreated a second set of color variations

  • Deleted/reuploaded images

  • Checked permissions on uploads folder

  • I’ve tried this locally and hosted, same results.

It seems to only be happening in Bricks…as I’ve tested this with the WP 2024 template, and it works fine.

*I’m running WordPress 6.6.1, with Woo 9.2.2, and Bricks Builder 1.10.1.

Any idea on if these could be related to Bricks? Any pointers on how to fix things or where to start?

Hi @ryanmvickerman,

thank you for your report. Let’s go over all three problems, but before testing, please disable all plugins (except mandatory ones)

  1. If you enable 2024 or Storefront theme, is it working then? If it’s working if Bricks is not active, then please show how you have your product page set up, what elements?
  2. But simple products do not have variations? Or what do you mean here, can I get a screenshot of a working example of the simple product?
  3. If you test this on a default theme, does it work? Also, can you please show what you should see and what is missing?

The thing is, numbers 2 and 3 are using external plugins, so maybe you will have to check with them if they are compatible with Bricks in the way that you need.

I suggest you test all three versions with as few plugins as possible and switch to the default theme, and let me know, then we can take it from there.

Best regards,
M

Thanks for the fast response! I’ve been working with Jenn and it seems like Woocommerce is not ‘attaching’ images to the product when added via the Woocommerce product admin.

Images showing as attached in media library

Here are my images in WC…

Front end showing only “attached” images and not the ones spec’d in WC

I’ve opened a support ticket with WC.

But, I guess the only reason why this isn’t working for me in Bricks, is because I am trying to pull WC images in with a query loop, as shown below. It is only showing images that are ‘attached’ to the product.
