WAIT: White Screen with WooCommerce

Browser: Brave v1.73.104 (Chromium 131.0.6778.204)
OS: Linux
Bricks Version: 1.11.1.1
WP Version: 6.7.1
PHP Version: 7.4.33

Hello. I am trying to install WooCommerce for the first time. I went to the wordpress new plugin store and installed WooCommerce. It installed the most recent version of WooCommerce (9.5.1). I went to edit the “Shop” page with bricks and I was met with a white screen. Editing any page even ones not created by WooCommerce causes a white screen to appear. Viewing the website is fine but editing with bricks causes issues.

Disabling the “WooCommerce” plugin fixes the error. However, I would like to use WooCommerce for my website so it would be nice to have this functioning.

I did some research and found out about the WP Debug mode. This is the error that I get in the debug messages when I encounter the white screen…

[04-Jan-2025 05:57:01 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 2846560 bytes) in /home/users/2/web/domain/wp-includes/class-wp-scripts.php on line 599

My memory limit for PHP is 256M.
See the included image for my server setup…

I have solved the issue by disabling the WooCommerce editor in settings. I was looking in the settings as a last try at it and I saw that setting and attempted it again. The white screen issue is resolved.

However, inside the shop page inside of the bricks editor, I am not able to see any Woo Commerce elements to drag into my page. It acts as if it is a normal page.

I also attempted to make a bricks template like this YouTube tutorial shows but the template themes for Woo Commerce do not exist.

Should I move this to another ticket/post?

Hi rendev,
Thanks so much for your report!

First of all, please update your MySQL version to at least 8.0: Requirements – WordPress.org

Also, increase the PHP execution time (click the question mark icon for more information).

If the issue still exists, please disable all plugins except WooCommerce (and re-enable the WooCommerce editor in Bricks » Settings » WooCommerce).

Best regards,
timmse

Thanks for taking the time to help me! I have increased the PHP execution time to 300 and enabled the WooCommerce editor again. All of the WooCommere templates have now appeared. That is good news! However the white screen still persists.

I have not updated my SQL server yet. I have looked into it and the jump from 5.6 to 8.0 could be catastrophic in terms of the database data compatibility between the two versions. I looked into my providers webpage and they have FAQ for this very question. They say they will facilitate the update but if there are any issues they will have to just wipe the database. If at all possible, could we continue diagnosing this error without updating the SQL server? If not I will contact my provider to see about updating the server.

I very much appreciate your assistance. Thank you so much!

Please send temporary login credentials and a link to this thread to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email address you used during the purchase, so we can take a closer look at your setup.

Sooner or later it will be necessary to update the database - it is important to make a backup beforehand so that you can try again if in doubt.
