More than once now and in every installation, the Bricks settings 'Toolbar Logo Link" keeps reverting to “Preview” even after selecting “Dashboard” and saving. It happens when I login to work again at some other time, and not recurringly on the same session.

Is it possible that you’re caching the settings page?

I only have the basic caching provided by the hosting provider.
But this problem only occurs when I am starting out with a new project. Then after maybe a couple of times of re-saving the setting, it seems to stay right.
