WAIT: Shortcode first row of query displays incorrectly in builder

Browser: Chrome 110

I have a nested query where in the inner loop, I use a shortcode to extract the initials of the user who created the cpt record.

In the editor, the first occurrence of the shortcode is not rendered so leaves the element showing incorrectly - see image

All other occurrences of it show correctly.
