Today I also have had issues with lag on the server, unable to save work…contacted the support team at NoFrills and they report high CPU use: “your account’s resource usage was very high and crossed its allowed limit in the last few hours”. Is there anything that can be done to alleviate this?
The only solution I’ve found is restarting the hosting server. I use Cloudways, so I have easy access to do so.
Alternatively, I’d suggest rolling back to v1.9.7 or v1.9.8-beta (since I didn’t have this issue with the beta) until the Bricks team can update us with more information.
I’m on 1.9.7.1, and experiencing the slowdown. I will investigate more and see what other things it could be…but NFC support said I’m having 100% CPU spikes…and I definitely see slowdowns when saving templates.
Perhaps I need to save out portions of one template to a different template and include on the page using conditions? Not really sure how else to alleviate this.
UPDATE:
Just did another save test…and had an 81% spike:
Every time, but not the same consumption of bandwidth. Just did another test. This time is was 67% and coincides directly with saving a Bricks template.
Apologies for the delayed response as we had to go through other performance-related reports.
Seems like the issue you & @milkrow are describing is different than other CPU-related reports we received in the fact that yours happens when saving.
You mentioned:
So you’re able to consistently replicate the issue and as soon as you downgrade to 1.9.7.1 the issue is no longer there? if so then please share temporary admin access to a staging environment. You can share the credentials with help@bricksbuilder.io and please include a link to this forum thread in your email.
If the issue persists after downgrading, try disabling all plugins and see if that changes anything.
As soon as I have some time, I’ll do some additional tests. I’m on 1.9.7.1, and I have not used any beta versions, so I don’t have any info on that. I’ll circle back as soon as I can. Thanks for reaching out.
