WAIT: Robots tag appears twice in Head section

Browser: Chrome 110
OS: macOS / Windows / Linux / etc.

I have a few pages, I want bots to crawl, but not index, so in Bricks Builder under Page Settings → SEO, I have the ‘noindex’ selected.

However when I inspect the source code for those pages where I have robots directives in Bricks Builder SEO section of page settings selected, two Robots Metatags appear. I’ve been told this is bad practice, because the second one might be ignored ( second one is generated by Bricks. )
robots

I see the same on the Bricks Builder privacy policy page, two robots tags appear in the Head section. Privacy Policy – Bricks

Why aren’t the Robots tags combined as recommended by Google?

Many thanks

Hi,
Thanks so much for your report!

What it the source of this statement?

According to the google docs, it isn’t an issue:

You can create a multi-rule instruction by combining robots meta tag rules…

For situations where multiple crawlers are specified along with different rules, the search engine will use the sum of the negative rules.

If we have an SEO expert in the forum, I would be very grateful for concrete statements/sources on this.

Best regards,
