WAIT: Nav link element applies classes to list item (.menu item) in builder instead of li > a

Please refer to the following screenshot taken within Bricks Builder:

It shows that the classname I’ve added to the “Text link” element is getting applied on the li and li > a in the builder. It should only be on li > a.

On the front end, it’s correct:

I’m bumping this because I see other posts have modified subject lines and I think this one got missed. Turns out this only happens when editing the header template. The ‘preview’ of the header is fine when editing pages and other templates.

Hey Stacey,

thanks for your report.

I’ll have a look at this.

Best,

André

Hey Stacey,

can you please check if you can reproduce this on Bricks 1.9? Because I could not:

If so please send some temporary credentials to help@bricksbuilder.io and include a link to this forum thread.

And – although I agree that this duplicated output would not be ideal – could you tell me what exact issues you’re facing with it?

Best,

André

Hi André!

No, the issue hasn’t been resolved in 1.9.

Is your screenshot of code from within the builder, or front-end? This issue is happening within the builder, when editing the header template.

Please refer to my previous screenshot for what happens (Markup 2023-09-01 at 04.10.37.png - Droplr). Since the class is applied to both the li and li > a, it’s styling the list item and the anchor, so padding is doubled, border treatments, etc. are all doubled causing an inaccurate representation of what the header will look like on the front end. It makes editing a challenge.

I’ll email help@bricksbuilder.io shortly.

Thanks!
