Hey guys, the bug I’m referencing here happens when you switch to Preview Mode inside the editor and then switch back to Editing Mode.
The entire editor gets stuck to the right, almost as if the left tool panel is pushing the viewport out of place.
And I have to then grab the left tool panel, jiggle it a bit left-to-right in order to fix the editor’s viewport.
This has been an issue for over 6 months, and it’s quite annoying since I’m getting the bug every time I switch back and forth between viewing/editing, which can be hundreds if not thousands of times per day. I’ve just been hoping that it will eventually get fixed with the next release, and the next, and the next… but seems like nobody else is noticing it.
I recorded a video, have a look ( only 27 sec video ) :
thank you for your report and the video. I can clearly see the issue there but can’t reproduce it locally. I’m also testing with Firefox (and Chrome), on macOS and Windows, but it works every time.
I don’t have a Linux machine to test it out. Did you by any chance try to test this on any other OS or browser?
Does this happen even if you disable all plugins, and have only Bricks installed?
Again, you don’t have to open Wordpress/Bricks in a temporary container, just have the extension enabled and open WP/Bricks either in a default tab or a multi-container.
The important thing is that I’ve had Temporary Containers enabled for years, and have been working with Bricks for close to 1.5 years, but this issue started happening over the summer so approx. 6 months ago.
It was after one of the major Bricks updates, can’t remember which one. So I assume it’s Bricks somehow “interacting” with the Temporary Container extension?
thank you a lot for testing. Yep, I can confirm this behavior if I install that extension. There has to be something that this extension does. Looks like the styling does not recalculate when the extension is enabled, for whatever reason this is.
I think it’s best if you can check the extension settings if there is a way to totally disable it, if it’s on the Bricks website (or if there is ?bricks=run parameter in the URL).
