WAIT: If using multiple instances of a section template on the same page that the original was created on, clicking on any instance in the builder scrolls the window only to the original section

Browser: Firefox Developer Edition 124.0b9 (64-bit), Brave v1.63.169 (64-bit)
OS: Windows 10

I created a section on a page in Bricks. I was showing my how to create a reusable template from an existing section, using this section.

We noticed that when multiple instances of that template are added to the page, when clicking on any instance of that section in the right side bar, the main canvas would always scroll to the original section that the template was made from instead of the one that was clicked on. It didn’t happen to any instance that was added as an uneditable “Template” element.

Refreshing the page didn’t help and it was noticed on both Firefox and Brave.

Hi castria,
Welcome to the forum!

I’m not sure how to reproduce the problem, but I think this is the source of the problem:

https://forum.bricksbuilder.io/t/duplicate-the-problem-of-importing-templates-elements-id/19124/3

In other words, it depends on how you created the template. You can also show me the steps in a new video (with sound please) so I can be sure it is the same problem.

Best regards,

Hey there. Just noticed the same thing on my site. I saved the template from a builder on a page, save as template. Then, using that, from there forward, there are duplicate IDs on a page when used twice on a page. Incorrect HTML syntax for sure. Is the solution to create a new template from Bricks, not “save as template”, and then use it? Please outline the solution for us such that a template used on the same page with not result in a duplicated ID of the wrapper.

I just tried rebuilding an already created the template by copying all, pasting, and deleting the original blocks. Then reinserting that template into the pages it was used on (other template pages). That did not solve the issue.

I then recreated a brand new section template from scratch. Pasted in the elements from the other template. Used it twice on the same page as a bricks template element. Same issue. Both have the same ID.

Hi @Wingtracer ,
Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the issue. Would you be so kind as to provide a live link and a screencast using https://jam.dev showing and explaining what’s happening? Thanks!
