I noticed my submenu’s didn’t work anymore; the ID of the filter element I am targeting with the submenu’s suddenly changed.
Is this a bug? ID’s should not change!
IDs should not change on it’s own. What was the last action before it changed? Can you replicate it?

I cannot replicate it. The site is not in development, but has been running for a while. So only updates to plugins, etc. are taking place.
Is it possible that you copy-pasted the element from somewhere else? I don’t see a ways how would element ID update by just updating plugins. 
That might be an explanation I thought of, but I cannot recall doing that recently. The site is just running like it is.
Was this just a one-off occurrence, or this happen multiple times?
