WAIT: File Editor Bug with Multisite

I was setting up a Wordpress Multisite Network with Bricks Child Theme. The problem is that I get an error, trying to edit the functions.php in the theme file editor:

Unable to communicate back with site to check for fatal errors, so the PHP change was reverted. You will need to upload your PHP file change by some other means, such as by using SFTP.

This error happens as soon as I activate the child theme on a page. If I use the default wordpress theme everything is working fine and I also can edit the child-themes functions.php.

The problem can have several causes, such as insufficient permissions or security settings.
This could be a possible solution:
