I have made a Facebook post asking people if they also encountered their builder not showing CSS changes although they are being saved to the database and applied properly on the frontend. A page refresh usually fixes the issue (though it doesn’t when using the “canvas refresh” dedicated button next to the viewport buttons).
Orignal FB post (where I invited people to keep updating it with their respective plugin stacks) : Redirecting...
I initially thought it would be related to my CSS framework and third-party plugins, but after querying the Facebook community, it comes out that there is a huge variety of plugin stacks, even some without any third-party plugins, that still experience the issue. Even some fresh insytalls apparently.
That is why I/we might have the feeling this is more related to Bricks than anything else. @digitalgravy has also been experiencing it (in his videos he talks about it - tagging him along because I know he has some relative expertise to diagnose such issues and a team behind him).
Funny enough, I have not found forum threads about this. The issue might be so big (let’s face it : it kills the purpose of a builder if the builder doesn’t reflect changes…) it scares most people off and they don’t report thinking they might be the problem (like I did for the last few months).
I believe this should be top priority now to fix such an issue. @charaf@timmse@thomas
I have the same issue, and now very rarely count on the editor to know how the page will look on the front end. It wastes a shitload of time as it means I need to save, switch to tab with the front end, and refresh, then return to the editor. Right now it’s the single largest issue with Bricks.
@timmse@charaf@thomas Any feedback about this issue ? Is there something we can do to help, and would you like an access to a project that suffers from this problem ?
Thank you for your patience, and apologies for the delay in addressing this report.
Could you please share the replicable steps for this issue? A screen recording (https://jam.dev/) would be helpful so I can attempt to replicate it locally. If the issue is not consistent across all setups, we may need access to the specific site in question.
Hi @charaf, please find a link to a Jam recording where I demonstrate what is happening. This is not punctual, it is happening all day long with nearly every CSS change I make, it’s become really annoying that the canvas does not refresh automatically when changes are made.
Thank you for the video. Unfortunately, I couldn’t replicate the issue locally. Does the issue persist after disabling all plugins? If so, please share temporary admin access to help@bricksbuilder.io with a link to this forum thread so we can investigate.
Please make sure you are aware of the Facebook thread I posted in the original post, as this shows that many people are experiencing this whatever their plugin stack is, even some of them fresh new installs with no additional plugins. Therefore I am not sure this is caused by third-party plugins, but more because of the way Bricks will deal with refreshing the canvas when changes are made. I have sent you a link for a temporary admin access to one of the projects where I have been experiencing this.
Same here, with native editing in Bricks. Not using CSS or any framework. Edits are not showing up at the front end. For example, changing the color of the placeholder font in a form field on hover.
If anyone can reliably replicate this issue, it would be really helpful if you could share the exact steps (with all plugins disabled) to reproduce it. A screen recording using something like https://jam.dev would be much appreciated, as it will help us to try replicating it on our end and work toward a solution
