WAIT: Class selection issue when tabing through it

Browser: Chrome 110
OS: macOS / Windows / Linux / etc.
URL: Link to a page that illustrates this issue
Video: Jam

Pressing tab on the class-selector-input-field leads to being unable to select a class afterwards. This is only for keyboard-action. Selecting with the mouse always works no matter the circumstances.

best regards

Hi,
Thanks so much again for your report!

Long story short: The class dropdown should close, if it is not focused.
If you hit Tab twice, you’ll move to the next setting, but the class dropdown stays open.

By the way, if you have selected an element in the Structure Panel and press CMD+Enter, you will end up directly in the Class Dropdown.

Best regards,
timmse

Yes it stays open. But the pressing issue was that when you press CMD + Enter for example and want to select the classes beneath with TAB → 1. it doesn’t happen > 2. you try to select it with the up and down buttons afterwards > press enter to select but it doesn’t apply eventhough there is a focus indicator

The actual issue more compressed. Also with bonus issues to look at

I have a different feature request posting where the desired behaviour is described when tabbing through the settings:

Accessibility of the Element-Settings with TAB and SPACE keys - Feature Requests / Improvements - Bricks Community Forum (bricksbuilder.io)

Hey,
There is no need to hit Tab again. As soon as the Class Input Field is selected, you can use the arrow keys to navigate through the classes or start typing and then go down to select a class using the arrow keys.

Yes I understand but for people that have a Tab-Navigation-Workflow ingrained this can be unintuitive. It should either focus on the classes beneath or close the class-selection-window and focus the next field.

Right now, if I Tab through it or tabbed accidentally too much, I can’t track where the focus is at that moment.

As demonstrated: the focus indicator is also on two simultanious points → Jam → at 0:50 in the timeline

This should definitely be reviewed in my opinion

Thanks for caring!
