WAIT: A nested component with a toggle component property seems to revert to default toggle, whatever is selected

I have a website section, which is a component. Within this component are several nested components. These nested components have a ‘Hide’ toggle component property inside them, whose default is TRUE (do not show). Even though I set these child components’ toggle properties to FALSE within the parent component, they seem to always revert to TRUE, and will not show in the Bricks builder or on the live site. This only seems to happen when they are nested.
