Unable to view and select JetEngine Query from Query Loop settings

Been struggling with this for a bit and could really use some help.

I’m trying to select a custom query that I built using JetEngine’s Query Builder. I can’t use the Post type as a query because my query involves querying some custom tables. I set up the query in JetEngine Query Builder and it works just fine (I can see the results in the JE Query Builder preview pane).

However, when I select the JetEngine Query Builder as an option in the loop type, I don’t see any dropdown or option to actually select the query. I have refreshed the builder several times.

What am I missing here?

Thank you.
Sean

Hi Sean, in this case your query is controlled fully via JetEngine QueryBuilder. You cannot adjust query via Bricks Interface.

In this case you need to make your full query with JetEngine and then just select created query in Bricks like you did on screenshot. Name will be like JetEngine Query Builder - MyNewQuery.

Thanks, Martin. Apologies if I misunderstand you, but I get that part. My issue is that the bricks builder interface, while allowing me to select that I want to use a JE Query Builder type of loop, it doesn’t show the dropdown where I can select the query I want. I have more than one query in JE Query builder. Please see the screenshot in my original post. There is no interface to select the JE Query. I could swear I saw that there is a dropdown to select the actual query in a YT video once.

Well I think this is what you mean

In case if this is helpful for someone else, I just had the same problem Sean mentioned in his initial post.

What was happening in my case is that I had enabled dynamic tables in my BricksExtras plugin at some point (Plugins > Installed Plugins > Bricks Extras Settings link > Elements tab > Dynamic Table toggled on). I didn’t realize that and I didn’t notice that I had two dynamic tables elements to choose from.

Under the Extras heading in the panel to select elements, there was Dynamic Table, and later I saw that there’s also a Dynamic Table option under the JetEngine heading. That one seems to work.

I’m not sure if the BricksExtras Dynamic Table element is supposed to work with JetEngine queries or not, but at JetEngine’s Dynamic Table element is working for me.

I don’t think it’s necessary to disable the BricksExtras dynamic table, but if it is enabled, I learned the hard way that it’s a good idea to keep a close eye on which dynamic table element it is that you’re picking from the list.
