What software is being used here for the forum?
I believe it’s Discourse.
@cmstew - Your right. I am a forum mod over at Webflow and they use the same thing.
There is a way to integrate Discourse into Wordpress then or is this via an external link?
I see a plugin to link to Discourse here: WP Discourse – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org
I’ll investigate further
Discourse needs to be hosted somewhere but there is a plugin that allows for some integration. Search engine found this WP Discourse – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org
I was reading that Discourse is OpenSource and they are saying it is possible to self host the software.
This is all good information and I will look into it further.
Wondering weither this works with Bricks. I thought I read somewhere Bricks is not using the native commenting system from WP? Might have beeen dreaming. But certainly going to test this either way on a sandbox soon.
Discourse must be set up independently from Wordpress as I understand it. Typically, as you see in the URL above, it’s installed on a subdomain with it’s own DB tables. You have to have access to the root of the Host container to install it. You might be able to get your host to install it for you or if you have root access, then if you have the skill set to do so, you could install it that way.
Once installed and configured, you can of course link to where it is running from.
Yes I know. But with the WP Plugin you can set it to automatically create a new topic for each post on Wordpress and then have synced comments on the topic and the comment section on the WP side. It’s the last bit I’m a bit worried about with Bricks, but I’m sure I can get it working.
Ok. Would you share how you get it working when you are done for everyone’s benefit please.
Thanks
