Hi Bricks Team,
WooCommerce is introducing native product swatches in core version 10.9 (Reference: Introducing color swatches in WooCommerce core Roadmap – The WooCommerce Developer Blog).
While Bricks Builder already has a great built-in Variation Swatches feature, WooCommerce’s native approach brings a huge advantage: the ability to mix both colors and images within the same attribute.
For instance, in a clothing store, an attribute like “Color” often needs solid colors (e.g., Beige) alongside images for patterned, striped, or melange fabrics. Currently, Bricks forces us to choose either all colors or all images for a single attribute.
My Request:
It would be amazing if Bricks could integrate with WooCommerce’s native swatches as an optional data source. This means:
- Option to Migrate/Sync: Allow users to choose between Bricks’ built-in swatch system or fetch the swatch data directly from WooCommerce core’s new default settings.
- Product Page Compatibility: Bricks’ variation selectors should seamlessly read and render these mixed (color/image) native swatches on single product pages.
- Future Filter Element Support: Since Bricks will eventually need an advanced native product filtering system for archive pages, having this connected to WooCommerce’s native taxonomy meta will ensure perfect compatibility and blazing-fast performance without relying on heavy third-party filtering plugins.
This integration would keep Bricks ahead of the game as the most WooCommerce-friendly builder, making our workflows cleaner, native, and database-efficient.
Thank you for considering this request!
