SOLVED: WPML Fatal Error in Builder for Footer with deprecated "Populate Content"

I came across a bug that caused a fatal error in php when I try to edit a bricks template that is set to be a footer and has the populate content setting configured with a post that no longer exists.

We had a “7” meaning the post with the ID of “7” in the populate content section. Removing that reference to the no longer existing post resolved the issue.

Ways to reproduce:

  • Install WPML
  • Create a template and set it up to be the footer
  • Choose a single post to populate the content from
  • Delete the selected post
  • Try to edit the footer

@charaf or @timmse sorry for tagging, but i did not hear anything regarding this bug. Is it actively being worked on?

Hi Justin,
Thanks so much for your report, and sorry for the delayed reply!

I reproduced the issue and added it to the bug tracker.

Best regards,
timmse

Hi @JUVO_Justin,

We’ve fixed this in Bricks 1.12 BETA, now available as a manual download (Bricks – Account)

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

You can see the full changelog here: Bricks 1.12 Changelog – Bricks

As with any beta release, please do not use it on a production/live website. It is only meant for testing in a local or staging environment.

Best regards,
Matej
