SOLVED: WooCommerce 7.4 » Templates need update

Bricks Version: 1.6.2
Browser: Brave 1.48.158
OS: Any

After updating Woocommerce to version 7.4.0 I’m getting the following message:

It’s regarding the template:

bricks/woocommerce/cart/cart.php version 7.0.1 is out of date. The core version is 7.4.0

Thanks in advance!

I’m experiencing the same issue. A client reported that the product pages are gone and I see the same “Your theme contains outdated copies of WooCommerce templates…” error message in the dashboard.

My client just had their product launch yesterday and thousands of people are trying to reach their site, I find this quite frustrating.

EDIT: The missing products issue was quickly resolved by updating permalink structure within WordPress. If anyone’s products are missing, try that (and clear cache) first. However, the outdated templates issue still presists, but that’ll be handled through downgrading WooC.

To be fair: Plugin updates should be tested in a staging environment. This goes especially for WooCommerce. It’s quite usual that themes / plugins need some time to catch up with WC template updates. And personally I generally would not perform any updates on product launch days.

For now it’s your best bet to work with the previous WC version until Bricks catched up.

You’re absolutely right. Better enable smart updates.

Hey guys,
WooCommerce 7.4 was only released today, so we only saw the changelog today. It can’t be ruled out that there might be problems with such changes.

We will soon release a new Bricks version as a beta version, which already contains the template adjustments.

However, beta versions are not meant for productive use, but for testing. Please keep this in mind, test the new Bricks version together with the new WooCommerce version locally or in a staging environment and update WooCommerce only when we make the new stable version available.

Best regards,

Tadaa, there it is

Please test with Bricks 1.7 beta, now available as a manual download in your Bricks account: Account – Bricks

Again: Beta versions are not meant for productive use, but for testing.
Let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

Best regards,
