SOLVED: Why do link toggle reset every time?

I don’t know what they are called, feel free to edit the title. But it’s very annoying that they are reset every time I close the element. (Actually not even the element, even the category itself)

Hi @andreaschrysopoulos,

this is clearly not a bug, so I’ve moved your topic to the Feature Requests / Improvements category.

However, I’ve also created a local improvement task, but it would be nice to gather more feedback from other users.

Best regards,
Matej

You can implement this like it works in AT: as new setting

@Matej Just because it’s not a technical bug, doesn’t mean it’s not a bug. I know you guys are not big on UX but it’s pretty important.

What’s the point of this feature if it can’t save its state? To confuse? It initially saves me a click, but when I come back to it, I have to do an extra click to activate it again. So it’s kinda pointless. So either fix it, or remove it. Same with the other “feature” next to it.

I feel like this is very basic UX. But really open to hearing your pov.

Also, what is AT? @Illarion

Well, my old car also did not have automatic wipers, and I had to turn them on every time that it was raining, but that didn’t mean that was a bug. It was just something that was not implemented.
The bug would be if, in my current car, the automatic wipers would not work, because it does have them.

Just like here. What we consider a bug is something that it should work (that we implemented), but it’s not working. That was the reason I moved this to the Feature Requests / Improvements, and it’s nothing wrong with that.

I also created an internal task for this feature, so it will be considered and implemented.

Hi,

Although this is not really a bug. Personally, I had not thought about it because I was used to it by now. But now that the suggestion has been made, I realize how much better it would be if the state of the toggles was saved.
In most cases, it prevents extra clicks, which is good :+1:

There are automatic wipers that turn on on their own when it rains? Damn.

I guess you’re kinda right. It’s not a “bug” bug. But it’s also not your everyday nice-to-have feature request. This toggle is still in beta, it’s missing basic functionality. It would be really nice if it managed to get to production.

And just to air my frustration a bit more. It feels like you’re often not paying attention to these details. You can see examples of this all over the builder. I’ve posted half a dozen bugs/feature requests like this the past few weeks.

I know Wordpress and its environment is not known for its attention to detail, but I hope you take this more into consideration and set a better example, for the whole ecosystem.

Yes, and it’s one feature on my minivan that I didn’t know I needed, haha

And you have all rights to do so :v: We try our best to implement all feature requests and solve all bugs, but as there are many tasks (including new features) that we need to work on, we triage them.

So, thanks for the suggestions, and keep them coming

People in 1925: “By 2025 we’ll definitely have flying cars.”
Cars in 2025: “Are these automatic wipers cool or what?!”

You bet! As long as you implement at least some of them.

We added this improvement in Bricks 2.2 beta, which is now available in your account.
Changelog: Bricks 2.2-beta Changelog – Bricks

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

As with any pre-stable release, please do not use it on a production/live website. It is only meant for testing in a local or staging environment. The more feedback we get, the better :v:
