SOLVED: Two bugs in map element (Map element not rendering dynamic data)

Browser: Chrome 128.0.6613.85
OS: Windows

Hi bricks team,

Due to sanctions, I was able to use map element recently in the new version and at first I faced two problems…

1- If we type the address directly in the Address field, it works without problems. But if we call Ares using DD Tags, the address is completely wrong. (DD Tags calls the address from the jet engine option page)

NO BUG : 2- By writing the address, the desired point is not displayed at first. But when I set the Zoom level to 10, it appears. If set to 11 or more, it will not be displayed and the user must zoom out for the dot to appear.

thanks

Hi @HOSEIN,

Thanks for the report, and let’s get over both questions

  1. What is the type of the field you have? I can confirm the bug and I’ve tested with “Text” type custom field, and I get it from the options page. Do you have it the same?

  2. Can you try with coordinates or a more precise address? I tested and this was working just fine.

Thank you and best regards,
M

Hey @HOSEIN,

since I was able to reproduce the first one, I opened an internal task for this.
Thank you for the report!

Hi @Matej,

Regarding the first case, yes, I also used the text field and I have this problem.

Regarding the second one, would you suggest an exact address so I can test it?

Hey, yeah, you can try Google address

1600 Amphitheatre Parkway
Mountain View, CA 94043

I tested it, and it works for me.

Great. Thanks for getting back to me.
So, the second one is no bug, but the first one is and it’s logged in the internal tracker.

Thanks again @HOSEIN!

Best regards,

Hi,

I have set the address as a text field, but is not working with MetaBox. Is it possible like I have it or do I need a different field type?

Yes, it should work with text custom fields. Can you verify the value of that DD tag by using a basic text element to check the output?

Hi @charaf When I output the DD tag in basic text element, I get the line as I put them in the backend. For example: Examplestreet 166, 1122 AB Amsterdam.

@brianvds Unfortunately I’m unable to replicate it locally. If you’d like, you can share temporary admin access to help@bricksbuilder.io using the email used to purchase Bricks and we can take a look at why it’s behaving differently on your site.
