SOLVED: Tabs (Nestable) or Accordions causing browser Back button abnormal

Hello everybody,
Well, I don’t know what name I can give to what is happening, so I created internal links, if you have a correct name for this and want to modify it, feel free.

And the problem is this, if you have a Tabs (Nestable) with some tabs and you just click on the tabs, everything works as expected and nothing changes in the URL, but if you press the arrow to go back to the previous page, nothing happens, it’s like if every click on the tabs generated an internal link and this is a problem, if a user keeps browsing the tabs, let’s say clicking 10 times and then he wants to go back to the previous page, he will have to click on the arrow 10 times to go back and without any indication in url or anything.
Looking at some sites this doesn’t happen.

Would it be possible to make this change so that tab navigation does not work like this? If there is any configuration in bricks that I didn’t see, I would also be grateful.

Thank you for your attention.

Hi

actually, I think this is a bug. It should not behave like this.

It is probably the same bug like in the accordion:

Because of this bug, I am using the accordion and the tab from BricksExtras. They work.

Cheers

Patric

It would be good if there was a fix for this, because the site I’m working on uses tabs on all pages and on average 6 tabs in each tab, imagine users browsing the tabs and wanting to go back a page.

100% agree. Cheers Patric

Can you change the topic from how-to to bug?

I made the bug change using the cell phone but I think it worked, I put it as an improvement because the tabs work but with this problem, but in any case the important thing is to be able to adjust this.
Taking advantage, would you know if it has any negative impact in relation to the slowness of using tabs? I’m using tabs to display posts or, better, create several pages, the good thing about tabs is that you don’t need to keep changing pages to avoid requests, and I think it only pulls data from the tab when you browse them, this should help with page loading , or is it that when you access the page it’s already loading everything, because if that’s the case then there’s no point.

Hi @thiago & @Patric,

Yup, you’re right, this shouldn’t be happening. I have added this to our internal bugs tracker :beetle:

Hi

I am not an expert, but I assume it is loading everything, just not showing the content until you click on the tab.

So I don’t think that tabs are a way to improve page speed.
