SOLVED: Style Manager: Unable to assign Category to CSS Class via Drag and Drop

Browser: Chrome 153
OS: Windows 11

Hi,

I would like to report a UI/drag-and-drop bug in Bricks 2.4 (Stable) within the Style Manager.

Style Manager > Classes tab.

The Issue:

  • Dragging a CSS class from the Classes column and dropping it onto a target category in the Categories list (e.g., dragging from Uncategorized to Foo) fails to update or reassign the class’s category.

  • The category count remains unchanged (e.g., Foo remains at 0).

  • Workaround / Working method: Selecting the class, clicking CATEGORIZE in the right-hand Edit panel, and picking the category from the dropdown updates the category without issues.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Open the Builder and open Style Manager > Classes.

  2. Create a new category (e.g., Foo) in the Categories column.

  3. In the Classes column, drag any class (e.g., .fb-list-results__type) and drop it onto Foo.

  4. Bug: The class is not reassigned, and the count for Foo remains 0.

  5. Select the class, go to the right-hand Edit (1) panel, click CATEGORIZE, and select Foo from the dropdown: the category assigns successfully.

Thanks

Thanks for reporting this! We’ve confirmed that dropping a class onto a category’s name or count can fail to assign it.

For now, please use Edit → Categorize as a workaround. We’ll update this thread once it’s fixed.

We’ve addressed this in Bricks 2.4.1, now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

Please read the changelog entry before updating, and let us know if you experience any issues.
