[SOLVED] Structure panel doesn't allow to partly paste words from the cache

Bricks Version: 1.5 beta
Browser: Chrome latest version
OS: macOS

There seems to be an issue with renaming elements in the structure panel. Could you please check?

This works:

  • Marking an element’s name + copy it (STRG+C)
  • Fully marking another element’s name + pasting it (STRG+V)

This doesn’t work:

  • Marking an element’s name + copy it (STRG+C) => OK
  • Pasting the copied words INSIDE (or in the beginning, end) of an elements name (= not fully overwriting it) does not work.

=> Bricks does not add the copied words where the mouse courser has been moved to, but it does add the most recently copied ELEMENTS new to the structure panel instead of only pasting the copied words :frowning:
=> Renaming with partly copy/pasting needs to be done quite often if you have a bunch of elements to name/rename. Result NOW is that you have to type the same over and over again => Huge productivity killer!

Here is a short video:

Hi Michael,
Thanks so much for your report!

The copy & paste logic in Bricks is quite extensive and the copy & paste behavior in the Structure Panel is relatively new, so certainly not everything is 100% perfect yet.

However, we will optimize the behavior when inserting text.

Best regards,
timmse
