SOLVED: Slow page load with lots of Template elements in a flexible content layout

Hi,

The primary issue is that having 30+ Template elements in a flexible content layout messes with the page load speed, reducing it to 6+ seconds. Having the same set up with all the flexible layout sections in one single template loads the same page at 1.19 seconds.

The problem is that with so many sections in a single layout, the Builder starts to become really slow, to the point of making it barely usable (having PTSD from Oxygen). A feasible workaround for the workflow would’ve been to move all the sections into seperate templates and nest them in a parent template using the Template element. Alas, the page load speed issue pops up.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi @izma669,

Welcome to the forum!

Could you please share temporary admin access to a staging clone of the site in the video so we can try diagnosing the issue?

Please share the credentials to help@bricksbuilder.io and make sure to include a link to this form thread in the email.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I’ve emailed the requested details.

As previously mentioned in the email to @izma669, there appear to be some performance issues related to the “Template” element. Therefore, we have created an internal ticket to tackle this.

Hi Li,

We’ve fixed this issue in Bricks 1.9.8 beta, now available as a manual download in your account (see changelog).

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

As with any beta release, please do not use it on a production or live website. It is only meant for testing in a local or staging environment.
