SOLVED: Problem copying element IDs for interaction

Hello bricks team,

I’m a newbie and I don’t know if what I’m doing is right or if there’s a better solution.

When I’m in Interaction Settings and I decide to copy an element’s ID to use in an interaction, I right-click on the element in the Structure panel. The problem is that right-clicking forces me to exit Interaction Settings and then go back to Interaction Settings after copying the ID. This adds several clicks and makes the path longer. Is there a more convenient way to copy element IDs without exiting Interaction Settings?

If this is a bug, I think the simplest solution is to make right-clicking on elements not display the element settings, but only the context menu.

Best regards

Hi Fred,
Thanks so much for your report!

You’re using the correct approach. However, this is not a bug as this is how it currently works. I’ll move this to the feature requests/improvements category and will create an improvement task to address this in a future version, if possible.

Best regards,
timmse

We’ve addressed this in Bricks 2.4-rc2 (release candidate), now available for manual download from your Bricks account.

You can copy another element’s ID from the canvas or Structure panel while keeping the interaction controls open.

Please read the changelog entry before testing, and let us know if you experience any issues. Release candidates are not intended for production sites.
