SOLVED: Posts widget Images Height adjust problem

Bricks Version: 1.2
Browser: Edge
OS: Windows
URL: Posts Widget Images – Try Bricks – t9fe31df (bricksbuilder.io)

When using the Posts widget it is very difficult to adjust an images height.
I can use the slider to get the image approximately correct, say 508px high. But I then want to fine tune it ( as the mouse is too course a control here ), so I try and click on the arrows to reduce the height to 500px … but as soon as I touch the arrow it resets to 1px.
I can type in 500 and that works.

While here, it would be great if we could add our own custom Grid Image Ratio. As a lot of my images are in Portrait mode ( A5 magazine covers ) so the provided defaults are not suitable.

Thanks

Hello @alanj

Great catch. We confirm this behavior and a fixed will be provided with Bricks 1.2.1.

Did you try to add the width and the height in pixels?

Thank you!

Hi,
Splendid many thanks.

Yes I can manually adjust the width. But there are issues with that.

  1. It uses px but I’d rather it was say % to make it look good on all devices.
  2. If I reduce the width the image is cut off from the right hand side. Not ideal if the main focus is on the left. Would be much better if the image scaled rather than cropped. That was why I hoped for a defined raitio such as β€œA5”, and that that would scale. ( or add an image size for A5 or whatever custom size I need )
Note this is the same when I change the breakpoint. The page scales ok but the images don’t really and I lose large chunks of the image from the right. My images will have text on them and it makes more sense for it to be small ( you can always zoom in on the mobile ) rather than cut it off completely.

Obviously I can create specifically sized images manually and upload them, but I’d hope the builder could do that sort of heavy lifting for me.
