SOLVED: Outdated WooCommerce Cart

WooCommerce 10 is not compatible with Bricks currently. Is it okay to use it?

Hi Aleš,

thank you for letting us know. I’ve created an internal task for this. I, personally, am not sure about the changes, so I can’t say for sure and I’ll let you know once we handle this.

Best regards,
Matej

Hi,

Also, after updating WooCommerce, this notification was displayed in the WordPress dashboard.

Yep, it’s because the Cart template changed, so there is this notice. Good news is, we already updated it internally, so should be available in the next update, if all goes right, very soon

Best regards,
Matej

Hi @Matej,

If I understand correctly, you mean that after updating the shopping cart, we can create the shopping cart directly? Without using the bricks template?

No, it’s that the Bricks itself overrides the WooCommerce Cart template (just like all/many themes do). But once the original template (from WooCommerce) is updated to new version, we also need to update it.
In this case, the change was some A11y notations that we had to add/update, and now the templates are same again.

I hope I explained it well. Everything will still work the same as always did.

Thanks for the clarification. At first I thought there was a plan to completely update the cart and checkout to current WooCommerce standards and I was very happy  because in the new versions of WooCommerce the cart and checkout are not based on shortcodes.

Yeah, that’s not the case

We’ve fixed this issue in Bricks 2.0, now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

Please take your time to read the changelog entry before updating: Bricks 2.0 Changelog – Bricks, and let us know if you continue to experience issues.

@timmse / @Matej - I just updated my legacy site to 1.12.5 and this issue is there. I am not ready to update to 2.0. Can you patch the patch?
