Bricks Version: 1.5.3 Browser: Chrome 105.0.5195.77 OS: Android 12 URL: (a link to a page that illustrates the issue would be really helpful) https://redwolf.yesactly.xyz/
Hi everyone,
Some people may not consider this a bug, but perhaps a UX issue. Either way, it is presenting a problem for me on my current build, using Bricks.
On mobile, when the slides in the Nestable Slider are in motion left or right, it is not possible to drag/scroll the page up or down.
I am using the Nestable Slider as a Hero section, with images scrolling across. The transition is slowed partially, so the slide gives off a more relaxed feeling.
If you visit this page on mobile, you will find that unless the slide on display is completely static, you can’t drag the page down to the next section. If the slide is in motion at all, either from the automatic scroll or from the user dragging it left or right, you can’t move down to the next section.
From a user’s perspective, this can easily give off the impression that the site is broken, or that there is no further content below the fold.
Apparently new users can’t post more than one link so I will post links to a screencast, plus an example of how it should work, in my opinion.
Hi Nigel,
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for reaching out!
We’re using splide.js for the slider, and as far as I can see, there’s no option to make this possible using splide. I’ve tried the examples on their website with my iPhone and get the same result. Can you confirm using your Android phone?
Thanks for the welcome - I think this forum is great, and I’ve found Bricks to be excellent to work with so far.
In answer to your question, yes - I have tried the examples from Splide.js on my Android phone, and yes, the problem exists with those too.
So it’s clearly a Splide issue, not Bricks.
I appreciate that it’s not the biggest problem, so I’m not expecting anything to really be done about it - it probably doesn’t warrant changing the Splide.js integration to something else.
But it definitely makes the Nestable Slider unsuitable for full page slides on all mobile devices, in my opinion. Unless they are moving extremely quickly.
For smaller slides, like perhaps testimonials, etc - the issue wouldn’t be as noticeable, and the Nestable Slider would probably work ok there. People would probably notice it and drag from somewhere outside the slide itself, which would work…but on a full page slide that can’t be done, and that is suboptimal, in my opinion. It makes the UX a bit janky and clumsy.
Hey Nigel,
Feel free to report the issue to splide.js, since it occurs independently of Bricks (I wouldn’t mention bricks at all in the report, it just makes it more complicated):
