SOLVED: Missing / Wrong translations in Comment Module output

My sites are in German, but after a visitor has left a comment, the heading is in English (it says “Comments” instead of “Kommentare” and I can’t seem to find a way to override this in the module settings.)

What’s worse is that I can’t select the time format. The module will just output a relative time (“x ago”), but the Grammar in the translated version is very noticably wrong (“x vor” instead of “vor x”) which looks very unprofessional and makes the module unusable.

Hello @Niko_S ,

I’m assuming you are using the Bricks comments element.

About the “1 comment” / “X comments” non-translated strings we’ll have it fixed.

This is how WordPress core is outputting the date/time (and the date translation). Are you using any plugin that might be changing the comments behaviour?

Hi Luis,
thanks!

No; I just tried it with a fresh WP install with the same result. Zero Plugins and only the Bricks theme. System language set to German.

When I use the TwentyTwentyTwo theme, the grammar is correct (although it outputs the absolute timestamp, not a relative time like Bricks does)

Hello @Niko_S,

We fixed this and the possibility to translate these missing strings is now part of the Bricks 1.5 RC2 release, which is available for manual download from your account page. The german translation of “1 comment”/ “x comments” might not be yet in this release, but you may add the translations using a plugin like Loco Translate.

I’m re-checking the date/time issue.

Hi @Niko_S,
We’ve fixed the issue in Bricks 1.5.1 RC, which is now available as a manual download in your account.

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

Best regards,
