SOLVED: Hover effect doesn't work on icon in search element

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Make a new page
2. Add a search element
3. Activate icon
4. Give it a background colour
5. Give it a hover background color
6. Test on front end

I think I have a real one this time In the search element, the <input> tag is higher up in the DOM than the icon’s <div>.

My guess is the input inhibits the icon’s hover behaviour because it overlays it. Reprouced on Chrome and Firefox in Linux Mint 21.1 and Opera and Chrome on Windows 10, with and without extensions. Clear cache, history and cookies.
