SOLVED: HappyFiles Pro breaks Bricks Settings tabs and Media Browser in 2.4-rc2

Two related issues that both disappear when HappyFiles Pro is deactivated and return immediately when it is reactivated.

1) Bricks Settings tabs do not switch

  • Go to WP Admin → Bricks → Settings
  • Click any settings tab (e.g. Performance)
  • URL updates correctly (e.g. ?page=bricks-settings#tab-performance)
  • Tab content does NOT change — the previously visible panel stays

With HappyFiles Pro deactivated, tab switching works normally.

2) Media Browser shows “Nothing found”

  • Edit any page with Bricks
  • Add/select an Image (new Bricks Media Browser opens)
  • Media Browser shows “Nothing found” — Media Library images are not listed

With HappyFiles Pro deactivated, the Media Browser lists media as expected.

I’ll get back to you if it happens again. I’ve changed a few settings and can’t reproduce the bug at the moment.

We’ve addressed this in Bricks 2.4, now available as a one-click update in your WordPress Dashboard.

This update handles HappyFiles versions that do not provide the optional folder helpers used by Bricks.

Please read the changelog entry before updating, and let us know if you experience any issues.

I experience the same issue with the ‘nothing found’ in media browser on version 2.4.1

@redmix The “nothing found” bug you describe is different and can be fixed by setting the “Default folder” option in the HappyFiles settings to “All files”, until we provide an official fix in the next update (2.4.2).
