Hey guys. Testing out the new font preloading feature.
It is only preloading the Normal font file. The other weights do not get preloaded.
Hi Alan,
Thanks so much for your report!
It should work if you set the font weights for both the body and the headings explicitly.
As far as I can see from your video, you didn’t set a weight on either, but left them unset/on the default.
Best regards,
timmse
Hey. Sorry but 2.0 Custom Fonts in 2.0 is super broken for variable fonts.
Thanks for the video Alan!
Yes, we’re aware of the font-weight issues and working on a solution. However, you can use the font-variation settings in this case.
In the best case, no font-weight dropdown should be displayed in the font manager (old and new) when uploading a variable font - instead, the font weights should be read out according to the supported ranges (e.g. 100, 200, 300, …, 900) etc. and displayed automatically within the font-weight dropdown in the builder. Possibly supplemented by a “custom” input in which you can enter 333, for example, so that you do not have to enter “wght” 333 in the font variation setttings.

Have you tried this yet?
We fixed this issue in Bricks 2.2 RC, now available as a manual download in your account (see changelog).
Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.
As with any pre-stable release, please do not use it on a production website. It is intended for testing in a local or staging environment only.
