Any change of “Filter - Select”-Element settings leads to it “losing” it’s functionality, when combining it with ACF Taxonomie field.
In my case, i have ACF Taxonomie field which adds a custom tax to a post. i want to filter for those taxonomies via the “Filter-select”-Element but after changing some settings the count drops to zero per taxonomy. Saving the posts reindexes them.
this happen when saving the acf field either as Tax-Object, aswell as ID.

Here’s a screencast of the problem. Sadly those dropdown menu’s are not being recorded so you must take my word for it when I say, that you can’t filter the posts anymore once I have saved in bricks. The Post count drops to 0 and you can’t click them anymore.

If you are using ACF taxonomy field, the term actually is not assigned to the taxonomy.
Instead, the terms are only saved in a meta field.
You should check if each post has properly assigned to the taxonomy so the count index will be populated successfully when choosing taxonomy as source.

I have created another video showing that the ACF taxonomy field seems to be actually assigning the term to the post.

Maybe it’s because the post-type is not publicly queryable?

As per my email reply, it should be related to a bug in 1.9.9 + Polylang. (Index records erased after resave)
