SOLVED: Filter By URL Parameter Not working if the Query element ID is 6 integer number

Browser: Safari, Chrome
OS: macOS
URL: Floorplans Overview - The Place At Dania Beach

Bedroom is a custom post type (created with ACPT); a number field.

The search doesn’t seem to update when a parameter is attached though. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it is a bug.

Hi Angie,
Welcome to the forum, and thanks so much for your report!

As far as I can see, the filter works as expected, but there is no “search” field. Can you explain the issue in more detail?

Best regards,
timmse

After reading the article on Bricks Academy my understanding is this:

By attaching the parameters to the URL, the filter should update on page load. So in this case it should only show 1 bedroom apartments. Maybe that’s where my error is? Does the parameter attachment only work for “search fields”?

Thanks for the explanation - now I understand

Is something set in your loop under “orderby”? If so, this is a known problem and has already been reported: WIP: Bricks Filter (Sorting) Parameters in URL don't work on page load

It will be solved in the next version :v:

Glad I could clear it up

No orderly is set.

Hi Angie,
Thanks so much for the login data!

The issue is caused by the query ID, which is a known issue we’re already working on.
I could solve the issue temporarily by duplicating the query and reassigning the filters.

We’ll update this thread as soon as it’s finally solved.

Thank you!! I didn’t know it was a known bug (didn’t find a thread here, maybe I overlooked it).

Hi @BigPixelCreation ,

It was reported by a user via email channel so you can’t get it in the forum search result.

Regards,
Jenn

Hi @BigPixelCreation,

We’ve fixed this in Bricks 1.12 BETA, now available as a manual download (Bricks – Account)

Please let us know if you are still experiencing issues.

You can see the full changelog here: Bricks 1.12 Changelog – Bricks

As with any beta release, please do not use it on a production/live website. It is only meant for testing in a local or staging environment.

Best regards,
Matej
